you always buy a ticket
got to be in it to win it
life is a lottery
a game of chance loss or gain
betting on a horse that’s lame
always loaded to the dealer’s hand

wake up
wake up

from the dream
tomorrow is another day
because you see it that way
the moment is now
never before lived
the place may be familiar
but take in the landscape

forgive yourself the pain
bad decisions flawed refrain
your future is here and now
step through the door
take a bow
I dreamed I was a crane
flying high in the sky touching the sun
to penglai and it's jade terraces
wild horses running free
long white mains flying with the wind
over streams and rivers that trail across fertile land
as I soar through the clouds
set to rest in everlasting thought
my dream is over
or just beginning
Tao
belief
hope though

How small I am in my eyes.
May I see me as tall as you do.
My underestimation
keeps me from the gestation
of the universe within me
aching to explode.

He enjoys listening to me,
but hardly understands or believes
what I tell him.
I think for him,
I am nothing but mythology.

A Sunday sacrifice condensed
Golden amber sprites compete
Cries of life echo their last bequest
As prongs and tongs poke
Black bars sizzle on cold dead flesh

Sweetened smoke invokes
the demon's first bite
Mind controlled spoke of rites
The decree of three hundred degrees
Old and new viewed
on separate pews
Charcoal bright a dusty white

Rules do vary with belief in
the division of meat
Breathe in look up
Give thanks to the energy received
Respect both life and death in defeat

Walk with me down this path
I'll hold your hand, make sure you won't get lost
Have Faith in me
Listen to my voice, I'll clear the cloud within your mind
Have belief in me
It's rough, you might fall but let me help you up
Rely on me
Every burden, share with me, I'm here

Not a god, not a poem, not a love song,
not a stranger’s-hand thumping the chest, nor a preacher perusing the words he has to sell, not a broken bone set or the warmth of a mother’s love.
Just a finite moment expressed  in the tears of a lost memory, leaking from the eye of fragile flesh. Not a god, not a poem, not a love song.
Just a final breathe.

everything about you is beautiful
your soul, delicate & musical
introspective
through your eyes & lens

similar stories
from worlds apart
bound by invisible
quivering thread.

tying us as one

we look eye to eye
the light in one another
beside the setting sun.

from city skylines,
forests green
and lakes vast and blue.

the shared experience
of being human
is what binds me
to you.
just about the one thing we can all relate to. Being human. Loving each other and finding that connection within one another. To have acceptance for others simply due to having the shared human experience

It’s not
“DIFFI-CULT”

It’s just
a
different cult!
