I woke up and forgot it was October
On the front steps, I shook a little less
Than the last time we decided to rush
A season, shaking branches and wearing
Sweaters with the sun beating down
Tomorrow, it still won’t feel like home
But I am learning that nothing does
Except for autumn and that first cool morning
Where the air smells like it did when I was ten
Before I knew that life would ever feel as unreal
As it does now, standing on one side of a door
Stirring up the courage to pull it shut

I you start with a breath
and end you with a death
and in-between l don't know.

By that l mean
I cannot guarantee you your dream
I cannot guarantee time
I cannot guarantee your love
I cannot guarantee you your self

You see my friend, all we
can do is to never to hope
but to live.

I feel an unfamiliar breeze.
Warm and gentle it soothes,
Not only my skin, but mind.

As it swallows my ears,
My thoughts disappear.
Leaving it's bustling song.

Carrying messages of change.
I close my eyes,
To see the growth and welcome it

Almost like breaking an embrace,
The wind moves on.
However,

Feelings linger.
Of prosperity and new beginnings.
I am thankful for it's blessing.

The clarity it bestowed,
Only shows and confirms my path.
Making all things seemingly possible.
Gives me goosebumps to stand on the edge of the water and to feel the sea breeze.

I ventured into the depths of my unruly heart to find the words that tasted like honey at sunrise.

REFERENCE: A blue flame colour means complete combustion. This indicates that the gas is being burned efficiently without any unburned and wasted gas.
A red or yellow flame is a flame being starved of oxygen, creating incomplete combustion.

BLUE FLAMIN'
You came to me in a slow burnin’ way
Parched and left to decay
A starved of oxygen kind of soul
Across the floor, through the door
Your face came into view
All alone in a ghostly hue
An ignition of interest
An unexpected spark
A small yellow flame
Slow and steady from first mark
Catching and burning
Tender in motion and rising high
More air, you burned fast
Yellow flamin’ up to the sky
There for a while.
Glimpses of the blue flame
A phantom in fright

I sat with another clip board, another list
welcoming those whose once small faces,
mad dashes, hot tears
and cold contempts
rattled these walls for five years

Some had beards, some hips, brio,
some adult eyes
that took two or three glances to recognise
the child still in

Almost all had smiles

Behind them, trooping colour to the tennis courts,
their summer school scions
began their own gangly rise
ad infinitum
