I died that night,
it was over.
I chose not to fight,
for peace of mind.
or so I thought…

“learn to forget”,
I tell myself every minute,
but I see you everywhere.
I close my eyes and give a sigh,
and imagine you’re near.

I have no regrets,
nor apologies to give,
only but memories to offer.
nothing matters,
nothing but you.

soon i’ll wake up,
maybe I’ll see you again.
if not this lifetime,
maybe the next.
see you

The heart is wanting,
The soul is yearning
Trying desperately not to say a word,
for it might fall on deaf ears
LJDC Jul 2017
Keep it closed,
Keep it locked.
Don't let them enter,
Don't let them.

But it was foolish.
You need the bee.
You need to bloom,
So let it enter.

Let it enjoy your sweetness,
Your beauty and your grace.
Enjoy it as well,
For once you had him.

But when he's done,
It is done.
He'll go.
Hell comes.

You'll remember him upon your petals,
Among the soft drizzle of the afternoon,
But you'll live.
Until you see him with another rose.

It'll **** you.
But you'll live.
Painful than death,
Is living with pain.

But you're still sweet,
Still has beauty and grace.
Another bee shall come.
He'll take the pain away.

But accept he'll go again.
He'll choose others over you.
But again enjoy it.
For once you had him.
fell from her home
Skies of ohio
stumbled from a cloud
Grew her wings on the way down

hellboy in the back pew
cigarettes, blue dress shoes
closed her bible, "I refuse"
She said, "To be a mans property"

neither bird nor angel,
she flys free.

"I'll take the skills to cook and clean
our sneezes will still sound the same
I'll vist on holidays
but don't you ******* bless me"

"I'll be Domestic for myself
clean home and the best of health
Foster bees
a book to read.
But the bible ain't for me."

she met me
at a speakeasy
"if you want me you better find me
Through the bookshelves I'll be waiting"

I turn the pages
Find her wedding ring
kept under the mattress,
not even god as a witness.

Doctor in ireland, she told me

escape in comic books
while he's away.

"Before we start, you have to know
One day I'll leave forever
Let's live a life we won't forget
In the meantime, together."

"I live with no one to respond to.
I live without boundary.
My ride or die resides in ireland
I'd like to love you while he waits for me."

Honeybee, Come lay with me

A few kisses later
cross legged in an office chair
sipping warm tea
I wake
green eyes watching me sleep
It's these moments

A godly nectar that is a
blessing only to those worthy
enough to have an encounter.

A golden hue making home
within the shallow depths of
the catacombs,
holding crystals of pollen's past
and honey's future.

A delectable dynasty
that oozes from the waxy,
permeable pores that are succulent
and luscious in nature.

Comb honey;
A godly nectar that is a
blessing to all those that
have been lucky enough to taste.

Honey is beauty in the eyes of bee holders
With a hive that's guarded by many soldiers
But for me, my love, it is coffee, mate.
In a red container and a label reading Folger 's
No time to brew, so I chew grounds in my teeth
About a half tub a day, let's be honest, I don't sleep.
No 40 winks, not a one, in a blink, that day's done
And I only wrote this because I found the wordplay fun

Retraction*

You can't retract those words
Like angry bees and scorpion stings
That drive a wedge,
Split the bonds that join at the hem
And sever the ties that tie
Those words don't lie

You said what you said
And pierced at the heart
Five lambs to the slaughter
By ruthless words
Sticks and stones
Surely break bones
But bones will heal
The heart will not

Am I not yours?
Do we live a lie?
You're pretending
And slowly breaking
Ligaments that join us
Bone to bone
Flesh to flesh
Though we be not yours
Yours we are

You can't retract those words
Like angry bees and scorpion stings
But the wedge is in your hands
What will you do next?
