Claire And Her Bear
By, Tommy W.

Her name is Claire
She has a pet bear

With clothes of soft silk
She drinks a lot of milk

Her skin is white
And she’s afraid of light

Do not fear
Those rumors you hear

She does not bite
While standing in moonlight

But if I were you
I’d avoid her like the flu

I went on a walk
Around the block

Suddenly I hid behind a tree
When I heard a man plea

Claire stood over her victim
Then she kicked him

I caught the glint in her eye
She wanted him to die

I stepped back in fear
A branch snapped then she knew I was near

I felt breathing down my neck
I looked behind to check
There stood her bear
It dragged me to it’s lair

(Short pause)

Like I said
Avoid her or be dead

rumble,
tumble,
great big bear,
i know he is,
hiding there,
scratching clawing,
great big bear?
do you know where he's hiding?
where?
under the sheets,
he waits for me,
to growl and claw,
at my feet,
i wake up with marks,
all over my body.
rumble tumble,
do not stumble,
i'm too far away,
to hear you're screams,
you claim the marks aren't from him,
aren't from me,
lightning flash,
thunder crash,
hold my hand,
don't get scratched,
rumble tumble,
i watched her stumble,
she has her own bear under her sheets,
cry and ask why,
why big bear,
must you claw at me?
let me save you

Purple and fuzzy, somewhat unruly
Sitting comfortably atop the bed.
It’s missing a nose, it’s missing an eye
It’s covered in patches with a loose thread
Its ribbon is gone. It’s tattered and torn.
It’s been hugged, It’s been thrown, yet he’s not dead.
He’s often replaced, left out in the rain
But he is there when you have all the feels
He’ll stay right here, He’ll share your company
Like the neglected Best Friend that he is.
Thank you

The grey fox barks
every evening, echoing
the perimeter of its
territory.

The red fox cozies up
next to the brook house
making a friend with the
inhabitant inside.

The black bear sits
its frumpy *** on the
porch of a new homestead.

The trees bend towards the
Earth. Reminding each creature
of its transient position.
I wonder how long has it been
Since you left and never been seen
Not even a flicker of a candle shadow
Not even a voice, it brings me sorrow

The absence of warmth in my bed
The sweet embraces finally  at end
The futile fights we always have to pretend
The simple regrets we share by the bend

How I wish that we can still do
The things you and I used to
The moments we shared with gusto
The blissful thought of me and you

The painful moments we shared both
Those silly words you put on a post-it note
Those linen sheets we cuddle and loved
Those promises we made under the stars above...

Sadly all these were but distant memories
A reminiscence of a haunting eternity
A memento in our colorful past which came
A gravestone carved with your name

I sit here awake at the edge of our bed
Holding your plush bear and being sad
For everything that we ever had
Was taken away since you've been dead
Memories sometimes haunt people deep in the core that they can't move on. Dedicated to my friend who lost his girl to cancer.

if a picture is worth a thousand words,
let me be still
and silent
like a portrait, a photograph, a frozen moment in time
unless my actions and words can outweigh a thousand in their importance.

there's a colorful mystery in silence
in quietness
the question of whether the mute portrait of a human is lost in a daydream
engulfed by sadness
or running from madness
or have they been caught
