I hope he knows that I feel the stress
vortex banging against his cranium.
even with my welcoming surface,
he struggles to let go.

I hope he knows that it is not I that
needs replacing,
but simply his way of thinking that
needs readjusting.

Hello 2021

the city is frozen over
on the first day of the year.
slow to waking up,
I make a cup of coffee to
warm myself up to the
new year.
I make pancakes in the shape of the numbers
"2021".
I stay home
although the time has reset,
the world is still cold
and there's no place for me
yet.

Up and down the street
they shouted and yelled!
An applauses over the
sky and atmospheric
nature blink and gaze
...can be seen, every corner
is a mixture of shine and dark,
in the far eastern is a balloons and
lanterns escaping to the above
earth, in the mid-eastersn a towers
blink and exploded
Above the black quarters, tension
and conflict are competing, and in
the ebony estate the insurgencies
took a ride on their roads...
In every home, there is a bed and the blanket of conflict but in the western
Shelters there's comfort mats to dwell

The ambulances all gone
My heart empty
My trust gone

as one, two, three, four, five, six friend and family we bury
as living death still stalks on

a daunting friend
you have been
but as you get up and leave
all I really feel is thankful glee
