Follow The Claw
Styles 12 Jul 2017
I saw marks where the beast left its claw tracks in her vengeful eyes.

Heavy traffic filling her lanes, left hand holding her tired, sweaty head.

I felt gracious fingers graze outside her walls in which tenderness was denied access.

Follow the claw,
watch it divide.

Dollar signs in her eyes made her Insanely blind.

She broke free, a mechanic bull when day closed his burning eyes letting the lead foot do its speedy dance.

I felt the ****** fingers of compassion cruising down her rough exterior never giving up.

I witnessed the wide pool of love
quaking outside her gates.

I dove in and prayed for everyone.

What It Takes
Styles 12 Apr 2017
How to harbor a bay with no moon?
To navigate without light.

What it takes to bleed frost?
Cling to who you aren’t.

Test bullets with hate until empty.
What it takes to roam sullen hills
To move slow, weighed down by punish and neglect.

What it takes to rise slowly
Run and chase something already there.

Hiding, waiting for anger’s mist to burn away.

How it feels when Sun cries.
Leaves your eyes swollen and full of sting.

When a friend believes in you again.
Invites you to live somewhere clean
After dying in drug induced streets.

What it takes to live with words
That cut your life,
To turn them over year after year
Watching them take you away from Paradise.

What it means to silence lies?

Pull out nails that don’t belong
Or got hammered in wrong
It requires lots of work.
Takes courage and a willingness to step out
Into air,
Not knowing
Whether or not anything will catch you.

What it means to return to love?

To endure
What almost killed YOU.

Styles 12 Aug 2017
Looking at you now.

Chopped up, a broken string riding gutters, my wordless love ransacking stores, full loaves of compassion stuffed in silent mouth.

Looking at you now

from viewpoint of moon
a full circle, blue gem whirling in space, captivated wishes in skin crying up, hands splayed out.

Looking for invisible door. Inside.

Looking at you now
a well where tears go
seeing you like this
a deep pool that couldn't rise.

Your child voice.
Your old man eyes, lost, helpless.
Barely able to get up.

You went through so much.
My God. Why does I love you not sing properly when it's stupidly spoken.

Looking at you now dad,
I still think of you as strong.

Missing Piece
Styles 12 Apr 2017
grazing long hours
in a maze

I run

just to chew the fat

from a missing piece

of understanding

that fits

in the

crystal blue room

of your sky.

  she opens the door
  night after night

checking to see if someone is there

arrows rapid fire from her belligerent mouth

they stick to anything male

wears her denial like a crown

but the love of her life killed himself when she was 19

she never told my half brother
how his dad died until high school.

it's complicated

stop asking me ******* questions

I don't have all the answers.

all I know is that moment changed everything

You have no idea

neither do I

why black rain puddles
to drown dreams

or how tentacles slither out
from all the cracks that never heal

impact like a meteor

dents so wide
they'll swallow your whole family

and cruel fire will speak
  from the missing pieces
   of love

to teach you how to forgive
or to become another lunatic
driven by rage.

I have smiled at both your faces and earned my right to graze in the meadows of tears and fire,

after this
only
wisdom
will walk with a limp.

It hits
knuckle flamed
on a street
that took your fascination
gave it wheels
a blurred rush
testing speed
squealing tires
craving to scar road
smoke lingered
processed itself through trees.

Red iron eyes absorbing
It Spoke desire
lit up dark corners
opened up stalls to wonders
grew outside of time
became more
than just a feeling
knocking away sleep
or
stalking dream.

It left signs
guided your blindness
left unexplained footprints
on a snowy trail
leading you to what lies behind
rainbow promise.

It spoke calmly
wished itself upon you
begged me to hear
wanted to be known
a invisible magician
speaking gold rush scripture
fluid and loose
pages torn loose
from a safe in spirit room.

It engraved you
with its miracle
whispered I Love You
when everybody hated You.

It grew lush
flew crisp
a new leaf
defying all logic
tapping at doors
that left you wondering
about empty spaces
and
memories
before
this life
crinkled hope
before skin
when everything
circled perfect
and
the best
Father lived in every house.

Gentle Man
Styles 12 Aug 2017
They say hell is a moonless night
with ferocious gusts breaking boughs off a gentle man's good nature.

Snapping blooms off tenderness
crushing down what God has given to shine.

I say love is a mysterious master
magnetically bound to follow his light encoded heart.

Thrown into fire, he comes out clean,  intact,  standing true in
violet fields of heaven.

They spread rumours like a vicious record, spinning around broken leaves on a hurricane of crown and power.

The only way to change it all
is to change yourself,

and

burrow deep into God's love
for sword of truth and
spirit power.

Ghost Arrival

Somebody aims a crossbow in your face but you do not flinch now that death's secrets has revealed itself to you.

Dead of night is a hangman creaking from a ceiling, stealing words.

His swaying motion distracting flow into stagnation.

Blizzard at the window capturing a white wizard of song.

Nothing can shut him up lately.
He mocks you through glass.
You feel with your fist,
lick the jagged crimson from every knuckle.

Slow to die,

this night freeze
stake in the bones
aching to flame
Nile flow into Red.

The ghostly arrival
speaks your name
crisp as the friend
you thought left you,

so cold the entire country of hell
blindly shivered on your floor.

When you wake up:
Darkness is a rope around
your neck telling you
it ******* hates you
as it scars your breath

Snowflake Redemption
Styles 12 Jul 2017
If I could zoom in to the core of You
snap a photo off:
Infinite Everything,
shattering my eyes
like a bag of marbles spilling
across otherworldly pier,

Your waves will bash,
my barnacles clinging -
a tiny fraction of understanding
holding strong.

All my hope is sullen joy
sea tossed and spiked with salty clarity.

If I could interrogate your saints of suspect, dangerous speakers of love, dive head strong into every star, break the international silence of borders, curl mist like into lacy starry terrace;

Evaporate into Atoms spinning madness,

Would I end up knowing secrets of your separation and key to your reunion?

If I could splash your sea with crimson army fire,
shoot out rays so intense
all the ceaseless marching
of alluring striking war:

Is stilled by your one reflection?

If I could give voice
to every wing,
design a secret language
for murdered snowflake redemption:

Would glory form a tear drop
in your eye and remembrance bless us-

Back into original making.

New Born Grass

She carried Ireland in her skin,
a vast mist of mystery,
hiding away answers
to something profound,
and true.

When she spoke, the tides eased from boom to calm.

When her anger boiled
Thunder clapped the roof.

Someone lived inside her but she never said who.

She always questioned everything,
worked her spells on mountain trails when silence opened up and twilight speaks of only golden things.

I saw her once in a dream.

She whispered Ireland to me.

When I awoke
I reeked of

ocean

mist

and

burning trees.

I saw her smile,

suddenly understanding
the secret to emerald
so rich in the mist

I stared hard into the Sun
needing to know
a place before the wars
in a simpler time,

when black holes
ejected callous words
speared out from hell.

I stared hard into the Sun,
found a hidden palace of love
in a place waiting for my forgiveness.

My keys were twisted,
my mind mixed up
spears multiplying by themselves.

When the Sun spoke to me,
I vanished from the world
No longer what I was.

Now only veins of light
flowing,

echoes of a language
only tears of remembrance
can write.

My heart carved out for a new star to shine.

All my wounds, dissolved.

Still, nothing is easy in a upside down world.

Even for angels who remember the back door in their hearts lead to the gentle stare pouring forth from The kind and gentle Sun.
