it is nearly midnight

and I see her

in all of her elegance

dancing through the trees,

calling me to her.

she radiates,

glows with a light so pure

so ethereal

I almost weep

for what did I do

to deserve the treasure

that is

the moon
I was outside earlier, and I swear the moon was a little brighter. It caused my imagination to run wild, but I’m satisfied with the result.

and so the moon weeps

for the millionth time

as it is the millionth night

far too few souls

are willing

to dance in her light
On a dead of winter day
our footsteps in the snow
melt too quickly
for anyone to follow

In drops of steady rain
we picnic beside the lake
and watch fireworks
fizzle out with summer

Riding the crest of fall
but stalked by spring
and so, in the throes
of such invisible connections
we're preserved

And sitting on a shelf
awaiting our turn
to be pried open
and spread like jam
for someone to consume...

A record plays a scratchy song of yesterday
I sit down
Dust the weariness away
With some soulless rain

The sun sets
A reprieve from the snake
While my cares and apathy battle away
Seeking balance before the ending day

The words and thoughts are stale
I've tired of their endless debates
So I watch the sun set
Listening to Cohen play

I remember the day
All I felt and forgot
It may have been too much
That's okay

I know
And found a better way
A raspy tongue
Steinbeck feels the same to me

Some days I forget my way
I don't know what to say
My sighs are defunct
And silver is grey

Perhaps Cohen can light a match
Smoky voices and acoustic beats
Are beautiful today
After memory decayed
How can thoughts be real
They're not solid enough to touch
So how can someone manifest
A feeling such as love?
Can you
Hold it
Breathe it
Squeeze it in your hands
It's forcing us to trust
In the invisible
Once again

Because although you can't see it
  It can still disappear
Love is the sad song
That left you crying in your beer

Blind sided
It can hit you
And you best believe it's true
Love is as real
As the way I feel for you

Dedicated to:
Everyone in the known universe!
Here we are on this summer's day
Nothing much to do
The flowers they are on display
Yellow white and blue.

It's time to take things easy
Our working days are done
We get our pension weekly
Now we are soaking up the sun.

Now we are getting older
But we are youthful in our minds
The winter's now are colder
They were warmer in our times.

Our children they have fled the nest
They have gone there various ways
Although we see them less and less
Sometimes they come and stay.

Now we are never in a hurry
We come and go as please
And we have no reason to worry
We just love the summer breeze.

Now we count our blessings
There's far to many to say
And there are so many reasons
To enjoy this summer's day
Winter is here but we had a lovely summer.
