You might be a pig,

Covid has claimed some of my close family
and it has not finished yet
maybe if just one other person had bothered to take precautions
somewhere on this Earth
My Father would not be dying in hospital, all alone.

The rain is not my strong point,
I go all sentimental, I look out of windows,
My face is coming back,

We don't have to be beautiful,

Which is beautiful.

I put an ad that I am sad,
Somebody called, we talked and met,
And now both of us are sad.

you'll be just fine...

to fall asleep

it'll be your fault
when someone dies

but you can't keep them alive
with water and salt

when you sleep it's like you never cried,

breathing soft and steady, wet cheeks dried.



when you sleep it's like you never lost,

boundaries weren't broken and lines weren't crossed.



when you sleep it's like you're still there,

and you still smile and you still care.



when you sleep you look young as I,

no crease in your brow and no old worn sigh.



and so if sleep is death just being shy,

is it still so wrong,

to wish

to die?
