My wife's family
is a pack of wolves.
One will be chosen,
and the others pile on,
tugging and tumbling
the lucky winner,
looking like they would tear
the chosen one
limb from limb.
At day's end
they huddle about
the battered cub,
licking its wounds
and nesting
warm and huddled.

My family was crocodilian,
cold-blooded and
waiting in preternatural
prehistoric patience
for a spot of blood
as the excuse
to pull the wounded one
beneath muddied waters
and devour their own.
So I lay in the weeds and watch the families go by....
Make me see
*just how eternal love can be
i cry in the night
with no one to share my grief
just the moon and stars
my tears stream down unnoticed
now that I have lost it all
and my past and my future
blur to distant horizons
and my life seems a mirage
yet somewhere deep inside me
there is a tiny glimmer
that refuses to be snuffed
defiant, ever hopeful
reaching for the sun
Choka
for hummingbirds dine upon
fragrant vessels as dragonflies
fly haphazardly above
cattle ponds are filled with dancers
upon her surface
spring winds usher in the afternoon sun
leaves are returning to the cool earth
as young couples fall in love
brown hedgerows are filled with young flowers
gardens swell to dark green in summer showers* ...

Living on the ocean as I do, I hunt fish and mollusks
my kin are otters and whales, wide eyed we dive
the night waves, soft in lullabies
in a sea dream, starlit and moon cradled
my lips are sparkling and salt flecked
my eyes wide awake from sleep
in a myriad of visions these sea colors
all my days, swum in a variance of blues
oceans deep and streaked in silver shoals
the day skies fade and die, into nights
plush and indigo blue.
A time in life will come
When breast milk will cease
And maturity begins to increase
When you will fight a fight and make up before the night
When your young age will show innocence
When your body starts showing Adolescence

A time in life will come
When you want to enjoy the sweet things of being young
You are strong
And your hormones are taking your decisions
When you become stupid
Due to the love of cupid
When you see the right track
But **** the world
You want to enjoy the wrong things
the right things seems so terrible

A time will come
When you are forty
Maybe still single
Used, dumped, hurting and regreting
Lonely
Cold
Pained

A time will come
When you count your mistakes
And there is not a single blessing

A time will come
When wrinkles will replace your dimples
When that beautiful bubbling breast
Will become a lonely desert

A time will come
When life becomes vanity

A time will come when you cant even see the sun again
Or hear the rain...

did you expect my flowers
to bloom among you?
what could grow on your dry land?
only weeds.
