Bad poetry

East Wind
Collections of my disorderly thoughts
gathered together with knots
of my ample desire
to make sense of my everyday life.
I write poetry, however bad they might be, to help me analyze my feelings.

As deep as grief.
The size of anger.
With eyes of time.
Death grows white.

Drowned in security.
A mark in a shield.
Gallowing eyes.
The pregnant skies.

Comfort in lies.
Distrust in truth.
Burn the days.
Learn to breathe.

Die.
Die exposed.

aye
we are hidden in the dark of the room
we are tucked in the warmth of the bed
your lips burn kisses through the skin of my back
my fingers scratch fondly at the scalp of your head.

you are lost in the deepest sleep
i am trapped in an aching wake
in your dreams, you whisper you will always love me
in your room, i whisper: "don't make that mistake."
i am sorry

They dropped me by the side of the road
When I still had more to give
So I trudge on, dirtying the hearts
Of anyone willing to let me in

Had I served my own purpose, maybe
Life would be more kind
But instead, I simply became yours
Left for someone else to find

dissecting the self for strangers;
an ugly kind of exhibition.
"too personal! too much!"
my inner self screams.
and yet it is something I need to do,
to purge these demons by commemorating them as art,
to make sure I remember to forget.
the definition of insanity is trying the same thing and expecting different results, some say.
