Meteorolgy
heidi 1d
They said it would rain,
but it is a cloudless day
and the sun shines high!
heidi Jun 6
Heavy purple clouds weep over the city,
Followed by an occasional thunderous boom
Rain gathers in quiet puddles

Petrichor fills the air
Everything takes on a moistened shine
And the breeze becomes a chill

A jagged streak of light divides the sky
Quicker than the blink of an eye
Revealing a sky of constant change
a chance for the plants of the sidewalk to be watered

Disguise, in Anatomy
heidi May 22
Molecular and atomized, the hypocrite's been criticized
Pulled apart the syllables, the mask he wore was synthesized
His movements scattered gestures, obviously disguised
But the flaws between his acts have begun to be analyzed
I wonder how many people play the role of someone they are not

Introspection
heidi Apr 25
I'm the observer
the stillness beneath the waves
I refuse to drown
When you learn to understand your feelings, and not allow them to rule your life, I think it does wonderful things for you :)

Peaceful Scene
heidi Mar 20
The mist rests gently upon the water’s surface,
where the fireflies flash like sets of blinking eyes
Long leaves of willow hang down, motionless
as an owl cries above, illuminated by the moon

Monarch Butterflies
heidi Mar 15
Monarch, monarch
where did you go?
We used to watch you soar
only a few years ago...
while the monarch population is growing, it is still below the average numbers they used to reach.

Lack of Creativity
heidi Dec 2024
Think, think, think
Still not a drop of ink
The page lies bare,
As does my stare
Indifferent and dull
My mind has nothing to mull
Only the wish to write,
Not a thought in sight
having the desire to write is not the same as letting creativity flow through you

Desert Inspiration
heidi Nov 2024
The desert sky is vast
A heavy blue spanning far
Rippling with the sun’s heat

Cacti line the horizon
Like an uneven barbwire fence
As the sky turns to orange

Like a flame licking the world
Dry and thirsty for a drop of water
The sun sinks into the Earth

Love in the Wintertime
heidi Aug 2024
Your breath dissipates to wind,
Blowing cold against my bare cheek
Creating goosebumps

Frigid, I clench my jaw
Afraid to give you frostbite
With icy exhales

I love you in the wintertime,
Where the world grows as cold
As your heart

— The End —
