If I could float up to the sky,
Be with the moon and stars up high,
And hide from common earthly sight,
Never seen by day or night,
I would surely find a way,
To take you up with me to stay,
To spend our days and nights above,
With joy, laughter, happiness and love.

Softly glowing in dark of night,
Gently charming with soothing light,
Magic is there so feel it well,
When moonlight casts its witching spell.

The dark is bathed in a light so pale,
As moonlight spreads its glowing veil,
Like a bride's silk-covered face,
Tempting with a sensuous trace,
Lights of beauty are dotted here and there,
While unsung music hangs in the air,
Somewhere lovers stroll with expectancy,
As they enjoy their moonlight fantasy.

She is very sad
She was feeling sad for months
Her loved ones all gone

Falling fast asleep
Mind takes off for foreign lands
Dreams and nightmares here

Listen to the sounds of singing birds,
Smoothly soothing sending one to sleep,
The musical notes that they mete out,
Will pave the way to a slumber deep,
At night when a tired workday ends,
Enjoy some music from feathered friends.

Animals will die
When mega disasters strike
Microbes will survive

An hour or less of daylight remains,
then soft and brilliant colours paint the sky,
in pastel shades, oil and water colour hues  
and around not a single lonesome cry

He was perched high up in the air,
Sitting on an antenna there,
Amidst a soothing summer's breeze,
Distant from future winter's freeze;

He was cleaning himself calmly,
With half-spread wings uncaringly,
Then smoothing all his feathers down,
Looked around with a birdie frown;

I wondered what his thoughts were,
Was he scanning the scene for her?
Outlined he was in bright sunlight,
And then - he flew away from sight.

We often expect others
to do as we do,
and think as we think,
so we can be comfortable;
But are our expectations real?

Do we expect a lot from others
in the way they think,
in the way they perform,
while we ourselves are slacking
in performances and thoughts?

Just as we expect from others,
They also expect from us;
So let us not hasten
to seek perfection in others,
so we can be comfortable.

The night is moonless
The usual stars are on strike
Homes look much safer

Subtle washing of the brain,
unlike its laundry counterpart,
does proceed with patience and slowness,
to invisibly change the mind and heart;
In minutes or an hour,
The laundromat will be all done,
but sophisticated brain washing,
takes a longer time to finish its run.

The saddest thing in Life,
Is unable to communicate
With friends and loved ones;
Words and feelings come too late.

We think, we feel, we love,
But if somehow we can’t transmit,
Then all the actions that we have,
We will lose them surely bit by bit.

She was on her broom since noon,
Flying all over the sky,
And I saw her outline in the moon,
As I was strolling by.

I stopped my drive on the mountain side,
To enjoy the country scene below,
Mother Nature was changing its green,
To orange with a gentle golden glow.

The small village town seemed fast asleep,
Very few cars were moving around,
Silence reined in the afternoon's stage,
Except for a couple of birdie sound.

In the distance where the sky was blue,
The mountain tops were still capped in white,
Year-round snow was almost always there,
Unscathed in the gaze of the soft sunlight.

That peaceful, beauteous scene did declare,
Autumn magic was definitely there.

Are trees shivering
For snow is covering them
Icicles are cute

Tremors all around
Huge cracks open everywhere
Landscapes change again

The night dream will begin as one,  
To cast its net over my mind,
The shapeless shadows have their fun,  
To fish my thoughts to join their kind;  
These clueless inconsistent waves,  
Will merge and morph with all their might,  
Till daylight brings its dashing rays,  
And day dream shines its dauntless light.

Life is too short for discrimination
We have grown up not too cleverly
Human mentality has not been that great
The fault lies in norms set by society

Birds and insects can fly so well,
Animals and humans cannot,
Flying is a physical act,
Wings for humans Nature forgot.
There is another way to fly
And mental process is the game,
With an abundance of Knowledge,
Our minds can fly all the same.

Deleting errors is something we can do,
If we will have the patience to see things through,
For often thinking and doing things offhand,
Will throw us headfirst into disaster land,
So better to plan for all that we construct,
Then moods will remain happy and not corrupt.

Glistening pearls of water drops,
Gathered early hours at dawn,
Perkily perched on flowers and leaves,
And like a damp blanket on the lawn,
Freshness fills the morning air,
Which will fade with the rising sun,
For when heat rays are razing on,
The fragile dewdrops’ lives are done.

Just a gentle breeze
But so delightfully cool
Flower stalks dancing

Full moon in the sky
Garden and parks brightly lit
Lovers cannot sleep

I caught a ladybug,
Sitting on the window sill,
She  was very small and cute,
Round like an aspirin pill;
She was dressed in red and black,
Quite elegant in her way,
I gave it a gentle toss,
And so she flew away.

I am looking at him
He is looking at me
We are both wondering
What the outcome will be

I think that he is wrong
He thinks the error's mine
Both of us can't be right
The ending won't be fine

Playing with words is so much fun,
Shifting them around and all is done,
The words need not be intricate,
And too many may just complicate.

Science deals with facts
And has no time for fiction
Belief deals with faith
And has no comparison
Our brains are too limited
Our lives are too short
To deal with religion
Science we have to abort

Let’s take a stroll along the seaside,
And leave our footprints in the sand,
Watch the beauty of the setting sun,
In the distance where the sea does end

We can enjoy the screeching seagulls,
Winging swiftly in the evening sky,
Let’s stroll along the lovely seaside,
Lightly holding hands - just you and I

Little Monkey was thoughtful that day,
And he had very little to say,
For he was feeling rather crabby,
Why many humans are unhappy;

Why do many constantly complain,
As though they were in perpetual pain?

Though it seems they have so many things,
They keep hoping for more wealth that brings,
Ultimate happiness till they die,
Money, more money, their daily cry!
When many others less fortunate,
Have accepted their ultimate fate,
And they make do with their daily lot,
Thanking the good lord for what they've got;

So he concluded true happiness -
Is not having a mountain of wealth,
But having good friends, real love and health.

Then he saw some peanuts on the ground,
And was delighted with what he'd found.

Do know that we are not the same,
We grew up in different ways,
But if we feel for each other,
We can live out all our days.

Three monkeys swinging in a row
Two swinging high, one swinging low,
Then six more monkeys joined the flow,
Nine monkeys in the sunset’s glow.

Tiny buzzing planes
Stinging all the residents
Mosquitoes attack

The fairies hold their annual dance,
On the fourteenth month of the year,
This is not on your calendar,
You won’t know if it’s far or near.
The fairies’ world is next to us,
Invisible, unseen, unheard,
Their celebrations are all there,
But humans will not be disturbed.

Flickering lanterns shining bright,
Flitting in the garden in the night,
Incandescent, tiny and light,
The fireflies were an awesome sight.

I long to be up in the clouds,
To float upon their peaceful shrouds,
To dwell amongst the dewdrops cool
Dozing in their feathery wool,
Where raindrops gain their early life
Ere their growing earthward dive;

I long to be on mountains high,
Where ice-cold breezes gently sigh,
Where the snow flakes soft and gentle
Spread their friendly snow-white mantle;
Where darting rabbits shake their fur
And lazy mountain kittens purr;

I long to be where angels fly,
Where lanterns light the deep dark sky,
Where rainbows spread their kingly hues
And heavenly spheres leave mystic views;
To gaze on beauty no world has known
To wean such joys no world has sown.

If only I could really find,
A simple way to leave the cares behind
And be amongst Her trees and flowers
Where time is all of pleasant hours,
I would take you there so we would be
Just two of us, just you and me!

Life is full of empty words
You meet them everyday
Real sentiments are often missing
Despite what their owners say;

Condolences and compliments
Are often voiced with falseness
Just made to follow the norm
Of courtesy and correctness;

Better to prefer the silence
Of genuine heart-felt feelings
Than empty words of shallowness
Forgotten after a few meetings

Two flies were sitting together,
And one was smacked right on the head,
The other one did fly away.
The unfortunate one lay dead;
A third fly arrived on the scene,
On the ground was his lifeless friend,
He felt lucky that he was late,
Or else that could have been his end.

Covid-19 has changed our lives
Our usual way of living is no more
for the deathly virus has firmly kicked
normalcy outside the door

We have to get used for now
to change our lifestyle and to try
adjusting daily as much as we can
stubbornness will lead to simple live or die

Faithful, playful dog
Barking, jumping, running round
Long wet tongue hangs out

Missiles streaking down
Devils raining from the skies
Corpses all around

Lightning streaks up high
Electric bolts across the sky
A storm is brewing

Of course I have to delve into my mind,  
To search for answers for everything,  
But when the answers I cannot find,  
I have to wonder what the next days bring.

Sadness, happiness, loneliness, joy,
I felt colours when I was a boy,  
Tinted lights and flashes, rainbow shades,
My youthful fantasy never fades;
For each time when I see coloured lights,
Or each time I dwell on starlit nights,  
A peace and calmness I always find,  
And empty moments I leave behind,
If you feel the lights and colours too,
Then I will share my colours with you.

Temptation is a daily threat
It has many friends all around
Discipline will keep it in check
And keep self-control safely sound

Small flame flickering
On evening's dining table
Cute romantic touch

Evil in the past
Evil remains at present
Evil forever?

Little Monkey was just not happy
With worldly things that were happening,
So he questioned all the monkey chiefs,
What would be the world's final ending?

It would seem that from earliest days,
When History was carved in black and white,
Evil always seemed to have the edge,
Darkness clouding Goodness from its light.

Is there really a Super Being,
With worldly affairs He oversees?
Or are all human prayers to Him,
Just a bunch of hopeless fantasies?

All the Monkey Chiefs sat down to think,
What convincing answer they could give,
These leaders have always prayed in vain,
Goodness hasn't triumphed with blind belief.
