Sometimes I hurt more
Than I heal,
Sometimes I burn more
Than a

Star.

We stand face to face along
A path
That only one of us can

Carve.

Bury me, bury me
Deep
Into the ground

Like a poppy growing atop
A mound
Of memories
You cannot
Keep?

Keep?

For me.

first, when his soul leaves his body,
and secondly, when he is forgotten,"

Through winters I long
For summers to come
And then they come
And I hate them
I'm always escaping
Never a part of the world
Through daytime I long
For the night's veil to fall
But it falls on me
Heavy like a rope net
I'm always waiting
Life always on hold
one sun      one moon
to nudge the air   to braid the snow

one sun one moon
to bid the wind   to harbor autumn

one sun      one moon
to salt the skin      to taunt the stars

one sun      one moon
to trace the day   to etch our dreams

one sun one moon
to set the fields   to signal the tides

I bite

Pri
I bite.
Not with teeth.
with silence,
with sharp glances,
with walls built higher than your reach.

I’m not cruel.
I’m just tired
of being kind first
and torn apart second.

You call it attitude.
I call it armor.
Because being soft
never saved me.
It only made the fall hurt more.

So I speak less now.
Agree less.
Trust less.
I pull away before someone has the chance
to walk out first.

It’s not that I don’t want love.
I’ve learned that even “I care about you”
can come with conditions.
Even soft hands
can leave bruises
you can’t see.

I bite
because once,
I didn’t.
And it nearly broke me.
