Have you seen my words?
Did you take them with you when you left?
Because yesterday I know
I still have the right words to say
But now, it's like I'm filling in the spaces.

Have you seen my words?
Did you take them with you when you left?
Did you hide them behind the moon?
Because you know every night I'll stare at it
And every night I'll wonder if you're behind the moon too.

Maybe you hid them among the stars
Every shining one carrying a word
Because you know that I'll get tired counting them all.

Or did you put it in the wolf's howl?
Thinking I'll notice the similarities of the rhythm
And I'll stay awake and think of you instead.

Did you hide them underneath the tree
In the same place where we buried our pain and tears
So that for another time I'll let go of the pain I'm enduring?

Tell me if they're hidden in the treasure chest I never opened
Do you want me to unlock it
And face the secrets I've feared?

Did you mess up the words in my favorite book
So that I'll stop reading it, imagining
And reach my dreams instead?

The words, are they inside the vase
Where I display fresh flowers
So I won't notice them but see that there's something more beautiful?

Please do tell
I hope you haven't lost them
I hope you kept them but please say
For when you left you took my heart with you
And if you took my words you took my soul too.
Filling in blanks.
before you **** yourself,
just remember
that there are
places you have not been
and things you have not seen.
and poems to awe
art to draw
fields to walk through,
people to talk to,
music to take in,
games to win,
and books to be read.

so why,
oh why
do you wish
to be dead?
it's your life
but the people
around you
get hurt too.
Piano Cello Interludes*

I am listening to music,
piano with cello interludes,
thinking about you.
I hear the passionate sadness
mourning from the cello
as the piano weaves hollowness
and melancholy from black and white
minor keys.
I feel the disconnect
between the requiem’s movements
and the reality
of an alive, beating
but confused, sullen heart
fighting to be free.
~~~
It always amazes me
to hear the bow guiding the strings
in pulsing tempo
to the fingers caressing ivory
in such a way
that only a smile
can answer in return,
allowing for a kiss of life
in the midst of chaos
and death.
~~
In moments like this
I want to sit beside you,
place your hand in mine
and tell you all I have learned
and know;
all the secrets
that wander through my mind;
even those held in
dark recesses,
cobwebcluttered
and filled with spent emotions.
~~~
But I know I can’t.
Not because I don’t want to,
nor from fear,
though, to do so is scary
since it would mean giving you
my heart.
No, not because of this.
Rather, cause
I don’t think
this is what you need
or want.
~~~
Life is complicated,
complex in its existence
and it is this contradiction
between desire’s want
and equality’s need;
between what’s flesh
and what’s fantasy;
between art, aesthetics
and reality,
that guides my choices.
It’s how this contradiction
interpenetrates,
thereby shaping
and changing reality.
It is this contradiction
I hear,
feel and taste
in the weaving of piano and cello.
Music living with us in the gutter,
while enticing us to look at the stars.
~~~
I am listening to music,
piano and cello interludes,
I see vast galaxies,
nebulae,
and shooting stars,
Knowing this,
this music of you,
will last a lifetime.

I wrote this poem almost 2 years ago now,  for a wonderful, sweet friend who posted here and at WC. She was special to me and no longer posts because of personal reasons and because of harrassment. I miss her in so many ways, her poetry, its rawness and yet beautiful, her challenges and the way she has handled them with courage and the hugeness of her heart...

I wrote this on my birthday and gave it to her.. This poem is very special to me and think it is one of the best I have ever written. So, my friend, where ever you are I think of you often, miss you, and send you my love..

Thanks to all who read, I hope you enjoy it..
We're all secret drummers,
we all have drums in our chests,
we're all drummers at *heart.
get it?
no? no? well, too bad.

The Reluctant Heroes
By Hiroyuki Sawano
I'll never make you smile again,
Not as your lover,
Not as your friend;
Not like it was
Way back when.
What is now, is not then.
I can smile
When I recall
The laugh you gave
When we were all.
Each day our oyster,
Each night we'd cloister
From the day's travails.
But memory pales,
And your smile fades
Into the mists of recall.
I've been told from a young age,
that in the end,
everything is going to be alright,

but I'll lead you in on this little secret,
a Secret a word has been blocked from,
because the human race decided to put the blinders on,

Not everythings going to be alright,
and in the end,
If things haven't hurt you,

made you forget the sky is blue and the sun rises and shines each day,
but every time you only think about the things like,
how you ponder life and death,

and sometimes its too early for thoughts that whisper in your ears,
when u have to stop to make sure you heard them clear,
because sometimes they keep you up at night,

and the nightmares play live shows,
that you wanted to return your tickets to,
but you sit there and wait til the sun shines and makes the sky blue,

because sometimes that's all you can do,
and that's as close to alright as it gets,
When battles never seem to have a victor anymore,

Because we have more tools than we know what to use,
and if we could try to not abuse the people we've claimed to love,
because we should get even they had it rough,

because we sometimes wish for things that takes hearts above angels,
and we don't know if the angels wanna listen close enough to hear,
and people sit in hospitals each day praying to someone to just hear,

praying before themselves,
because they learned that someone means more to them,
inside their world, they don't wanna live like they died as well,
because of the impact that has been put upon from person to person,

But there prays will only ever be covered up by distant strangers,
praying for things they don't really need,
and the angels try really hard to get everyone what they need,

but when angels have to sift through prays of wants rather then needs,  when those people have got a roof over their head, sleep in there own bed,
never worried about where their meals come from,

we sit wondering why prayers go unanswered,
Why we keep complain about things when we're better than it could be,
Is it because it's not how you think it's meant to be,

Can't we see how we're lucky? I wonder to myself,
Do I have the right to be depressed over the thing that have been done to me,
even as bad as they have seemed, even the  worst afflictions done onto me,
when countless people have it worse and say,
everything's going to be alright,

because I still don't feel like it's alright,
when my world crashes before my feet as people shove you,
off cliffs for the fun of hearing your screams echo as your fall.

But sometimes you want to fall too,
Sometimes we leap off the building that mimic cliffs,
because we can't take everything,

because sometimes,
like life handed us out the rotten lemons,
because from the start we learn how it's never going to be sweet,

But we have to learn to make the most of it,
so even when thing seem like nothing could get better,
we know at some point,

maybe right now nothing is going to be alright,
and everything's not going to be alright,
but something will be alright,

But it just takes time,
and patience,
as we learn to make the most of rotten lemons.
