tears are the blood of the heart.
when you bleed from your eyes,
it’s because something is broken inside
Our backs hold stories
Not even the spine
On a book can handle

your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about
you;

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
The softness of your belly under my wandering fingertips,
humble slumbering sounds bubbling up like prosseco –
a thundering giant reduced to a mess of blankets
and breath warm over bristling hairs.
It's time to join you there,
in sleep.
empty,
everything is empty,
one misstep
and you're dead

isolation and
fear
fills the room,
it's cold a dark,
deathly stares
are all that i receive,
the world has become
primitive,
the weak are
left for dead,
the strong
survive,
but the fearful
are the most cruel.
everything is so busy now; college admissions, the coronavirus, everything. sorry for the lack of content

when ever i hear your name
my heart instantly
sinks
to the bottom of a
sea.
These are the hands that will guide you to greatness,
These are the hands that will stay through the years,
These are the hands that will celebrate good times,
And these are the hands that will wipe away tears.

These are the hands that will love you forever;
When you are weak they will help you feel strong,
And, right now, since these hands are entwined together
These hands are precisely where they belong
Recently I was asked to write and perform a hand-binding wedding ceremony for two of the loveliest people I know while I was dressed as a dragon. It's definitely one of the best things I've ever done, and I doubt I'll ever do anything like it again! This is the poem I wrote for the special moment.
I think of the calm sea
When i see your eyes
Because calm seas are a guise
The storm is only near by
So destructive, inconsiderate, and selfish!

You voice reminds me of a raging sea
The way your waves hit so hard
With no restraint, no regards.
The pressure that drowns even the strongest ear
The air bubbles that force themselves into your lungs

But your heart is a coral reef
The abundance of life, the determination
Vibrant colors fit only for paradise
Oh so addicting, that adrenaline rush
Such clarity that one stays mesmerized forever

So mesmerized
I sail through the calm seas, against the raging storm, to see it.
