Death toll on the rise
pain and suffering none too wise
Tragedy in unexpected moment
disaster in life a torment
can the heart fanthom life
Doth life answer worldly strife
Past a history to write
future a clueless path to light

Dark floats out into the silence
Crashing on the banks of Prometheus's wings
Opening a velvet-silk curtain.
To a fabric of shadowed stars
Cloudy fingers sew it clean
While invisible hands stitch pearls back in.
A ghost flits on the hallway stair
Reaching for the last shafts of sun
Tumbling off a silent dream
Blind as black with a lullaby hum
Filling the gaps in an empty line
Somewhere between dusk and dawn.
Just a little thing from 2-3 years ago, since I only have my phone on me at the moment. Based on Romeo and Juliet

After Sunday you stink of hypocrisy
Please don't waste your breath preaching to me
To me it's one big joke
as you line up for the punch line
Wearing your see through clothes
and flaunting your plastered eyes
Keep funding your guilt
as I kick back and criticize
Pockets full of change
I wound not spare a dime

Could the power of poetry be used
To bring about a change in life
As it digs its way deep
Into the heart, the soul, the mind

Could it dig its way in deeper
And perhaps influence the scope of time
Could the answer to life's problems
Be found inside the rhyme

We all know what's said about music
Could the same be said about poetry
If the right words were spoken
Would it calm the savage beast

If you took it to the highest heights
And recited it from the mountain tops
Or planted it in the field of man
Would it grow the strongest crops

If they brought poetry onto the battlefield
Would it put an end to war
Or introduced in the halls of medicine
Could it bring about a cure

I just know the power that poetry
Holds over my life
And that if it were up to me
I'd use it for the good of all mankind
when in each breath waits a story to be unlocked?
10w, dinner is ready, so I have to let go the stories knocking.

I see myself in chunks
in fat limbs and a month's
worth of self-hatred, my mom
asks if I'm any better but the truth
is I've just stopped crying over it.
