I know I will see you tonight
That's why it's no point im starting a fight
Between my heart and my brain

When I see you my heart is the winner
My heart surrounds you with a shimmer
That only my brain can take away
To take it away I have to stay

Stay and see you with her
She the most beautiful person on earth
This will end with me getting hurt
Like it always do
It's all because of you

You defeat both my brain amd heart
Just ny showing up at the start
She lights up the room
with a beautiful smile
her laughter so soft,
but carries far in my soul

Her short hazel hair lies curly and fine
her fingers so soft and so sure

but her smile is what I love most of all
I've known it since I was two

she may never know
how beautiful she is
that darling sweet sister of mine

I cherish her heart
her warm soft embrace
and laughter we've shared
late at night

I treasure her soul
it's a beautiful thing;
and I'm glad to have known it so long

I hope that some day
when we have both grown
she'll find a man just as worthy
who'll cherish her heart more than me

she is my soul sister, my friend to the last
For my best friend Emily

REAL
We poets
see things
hear things
say things
that others don't.

We see the beauty
within everything
We try to write the beauty we see
with words

when we love a person
we just don't love them for the figure
of their body
Or whatever else society says
that makes a person beautiful or perfect
When we love
we love them for
the sound of their laugh
the way they smile
talk,walk
the way they look at you
the way they kiss you
or the way they tell you things

We love them for past
for their mistakes
the small things
we poets love

We love the way the water glitters
the sun shines
and the way it rains
everything

We poets wish we could say things
and people would love the words you say

but  we poets and can cry tears
and make it look like a poem

people who hate poems though
we could feel sad for them
cause we know they'll never
be able to say the words of their heart

We
Are
Poets
Be happy
for we are poets
You gave her bouquets of branches,
because she saw more beauty
in sticks than flowers.
And today I was asked what phase
the moon would be in tonight,
to decide how discreetly
he could kayak on an overly patrolled lake,
beneath the stars.

Seven cigarettes and others,
to ease the tribulation of a
warm lonely summers night,
where unplanned contacts,
led to strange content.

A book and a boy and a pen,
and a thousand words
that had yet to be inspired,
through a faulty habit
that took paychecks and too many hours.

Darkness molded itself around my peripherals,
like the ones your grandfather watches baseball out of,
and the love that pushed through the cloudiness,
to enter my cornea with grasping motions
from pretty faces with laughter to spread but no dime to spare.
They are the reason why

In a small church parking lot
I found beauty in the delicacy of change,
and the way things can crumble
and bloom,
so very near to each other.
This is one of those love poems
That young lovers tend to write
When they find that special someone
They think about morning, noon, and night

When the dull world that they once knew
Shines a brighter shade
Like any other love poem that you've read
On any other given day

It talks about when the one you love
Turns around and smiles
How with the kiss of wind the clouds disappear
And the sun comes shining out

Filled with a sugary sweetness
That drips from off the page
Though you've heard this in every love poem before
It still has the need to say

There's an essence to your beauty
How life sparkles when you smile
The way it is I feel for you
Is what this poem is all about

And though it's all been said before
In many poems up to this day
Thought I'd go ahead and take this chance
To say it any way

There is a bit of difference
And the evidence does hold true
This poem your holding in your hands
Was written especially for you

Looking in your eyes I catch a glimmer of what was once most definitely meant to be.

I can intangibly hear a weary voice inside you and it is screaming to be set free.

Saddly you locked up your spirit tightly deep inside and replaced it with woe and fear.

The person you long to be seems miles away, but keep fighting my love and soon that person will be here.

Let go of everything that ties you down, unleash yourself from the crushing weight that's constructed of all your pain.

Let out that child, the one hidding inside,  for they are in desperate need of time to run wild and frolic in the rain.

That surrounding light, your beauty within, almost blinding its grandure reaches ever so high.

Please don't be afraid to open up your wings, feel the rush of the wind when you finally take to the brilliant sky.

Truthfully this journey will not at all be easy, nor will you always be clear on the way.

If you are willing to endure it you may find yourself a little more with the dawn of each new day."
It is Remembering
When you layed in Daddy's lap
Nestled in his arms
He seems to free the world from harm.
It is Seeing
Passed the perfection
ugly, too big, or not good enough
You hate yourself and darling you're too rough.
It is Realizing
Fairytales don't come true
You don't beleive in anything
Back then you believed in everything.
It is Emotions
Changing from carefree to worry
Thinking too much or not at all
What once could slay dragons, now feel much too small.
