I’m the degenerate you love to hate,
the unclean sinner who won’t tow the line.
You ridicule my independence at dinner parties,
among similarly dressed cronies,
the institutionalized prisoners
of prestige.

Hate us all, the degenerates.
Scorn the indie musician on the sidewalk.
He colors the dull march of the khakis.
Despise the painter in welfare housing.
She strokes thick lines of anguish
upon uncomfortable canvases.
Taunt the quiet poet at the end of the bar.
He writes raw truth on napkins gone ignored.

Loathe the degenerates you secretly *****
when fashionable friends aren’t looking.
Eyes fixed upon your contemptuous smirk,
I am unable to cast judgment upon you.
Another degenerate spreads her tattooed thighs
without any hope of acceptance.
She only wishes to feel for a moment
the intoxicating sensation of
temporary love.

The degenerate’s ****** is the richest syrup
that briefly covers your vanilla routines.
Debauchery provides you a moment
to feel freedom within slums,
the pleasures of darkness,
the uninhibited passions of a life
without approval.
To be included in my next collection, **** River Sins.

Nothing makes me happier
than being a set of nonjudgemental ears
for those who have never had
someone to listen.
But sometimes,
the mouth attached to the head of the ears,
also needs someone,
to non-judgementally
listen.

A therapist also needs a therapist.
The greatest poet's never tried to get known,
They were the modern day loser!!!
Two eyes close and another opens
Yet darkness is all that can be seen
This new found place
This sacred space
Rests in the balance between
Spirit and Flesh
Mind and Matter

Gently succumbing to an upward flow
Focus is guided by a golden hand
Until it hits its mark and the wheels begin to spin

Colors, colors, colors, colors spin
Dancing between glows of light
Muffled whispers of thoughts pass by
As spectators to this other worldly show

Before too long
It is time to go back
Into the darkness of the day

With one eye closed and two eyes open
The world you see is now bright
You’ve brought the essence here with you
You are, yourself, the light

reaching out my nervous hand
I met my first “real” poet
excitedly I introduced myself
wanting desperately for him to know my name
but for a better reason

even the greatest artist produces trash
so what chance did I have?
an assignment gone astray
turned into a meeting I will
never
     forget

I attempted to recreate drivel
and succeeded beyond compare
eventually turning myself into a goat
complete with horns and an attitude
I just hope redemption
can find the non-Christian

many little moments comprise this ride we call ‘life’
some inconsequential
some life-altering and forever remembered
……….I wonder which today’s will be
first ever poetry workshop was stressful and non-productive...fruitless pointless and he was basically a stuttering stammering self-righteous *** face...when I have my own workshops to lead I will be many times more engaging and effective.
LOVE is LIFE

PAIN leads to the ever so blatant
SAD-faced emo-cased blood-crazed, things.

THOUGHTS can never seem to escape the DEPRESSION.

And,

All YOU can say is that DEATH...
is the friend that needs to be kept.

Because the SADNESS has fueled the tears that have been wept,
and your HEART has leapt lover to lover licking you into the shape
of a person you are now...

Keep your head up Kids...
I find it funny these are the words ALWAYS trending....its depressing....can it stop?
Oh my, oh my,
what a lovely song to sing,
a day does not pass by,
and neither is the love that she has for him.

"My Destiny",
is what we call him,
with the fear of him coming close to us,
he knows we never stop singing.

Destiny is his name,
surely he makes her happy.
And from the look in her eyes you know she loves it when we sing.

Jessica is her name,
you know that she is in love from the way she smiles,
and everytime she passes by you see that sparkle in his eyes.

"My Destiny",
is the song that my friends and i have decided to sing for them everyday.
Dedicated to Jessica and Destiny...
