misplacedpens
the leaves fall
and the trees groan
with the wind
and God is in each of us

we breathe
and bees circle; crowning our heads
the let us be -
they can feel us breathe
(they know we are just learning)

we fly
over the sound of our mother's cries
we soar
over the quiet echo of our father's worries
(we are above)
and God is in each of us

we breathe
and we are not afraid
no,
we are not afraid

i let my hair down
and my tired with it
if you listen you can hear
(the rest of the world is letting go too)

Skeletal hands
Clutch
They yearn to hold
To clasp close
That delicate
Mortality

Where will they touch you?
What will they hold?
Caress your heart
To still its beat?
Perhaps your lungs
And steal your breath?
Or your mind
And rot your thoughts away?

These skeletal hands
Yearn to grip you
As they will
Always grip us all

They want to feel the warmth
Again
Of life and love
And when they touch
A soul
They steal it all away
Until only Darkness
Remains

unbutton your shirt
kiss your beautiful skin
pull away
heart racing within
cheeks burning red
lustful thought in my head
as i pull you down into bed
i kiss your neck
trace your shoulders
your lips begin to smolder
i kiss you hard
with no regard
for the flames
of a blood lust
heart break

Fear, true fear is so painful
so hurtful, your body becomes shocked
your mind is crying
fear

Fear to wake up in the morning
fear that it will happen again
true fear is so painful
so hurtful, your body is frozen
your mind is scared
fear

The Broken Poet
There is beauty everywhere I go
Waiting to be brought to the spotlight
These simple grains of dirt falling from my hand
The crunching of leaves in the fall
The blooming of flowers in the spring
The beautiful white snow covering the ground in purity
The loving rain coming in drops kissing the ground
The simple strokes of an artist's paint brush
The string of words from the poet's heart flowing like the wind
The crashing of the sea against the rocks
The descent of the sun saying farewell
The ascent of the moon lighting up the dark night
The twinkling stars brightening the lonely black canvas
The holes carved into a person's cheeks when they smile
The little wrinkles that forms around a stranger's eyes
As they throw their head back hysterically
There is beauty in everything and everyone
You just got to shine some light on it
Including you, my darling.

your body is a dazzling colander;
filtering my pieces out.
