When I think of you, I think of cloudless, sunny blue skies, of the sun warming my skin after a dip in cold water, of covering each other with kisses and never getting enough. I think of lying in green grass and sinking into each other’s eyes. Our eyes having so much to say while our lips pause for a little.

When I think of you, I think of endless laughter, of when something is really funny, you’re the first person I want to share it with, of how my head resting on your shoulder fills the gap perfectly, like a puzzle piece finding its counterpart. I think of how you have the ability to make time stand still and fly by at the same time.

And when I think of you, I wonder do you also think of me the same way I think of you?

I think I fell in love with how comfortably you hold my gaze. Just a bit longer before my eyes start to wander.

I think I fell in love with the way you wrap your warm hands around my body, pulling me closer until we breathe the same air.

I think I fell in love with your sleepy face, messy hair and quietness in the morning when the first sunshine comes through the blinds.

I think I fell in love with your loving hugs that you know exactly when I need them the most.

I think I fell in love with your ironic jokes, sometimes still wondering if they are actually meant to be ironic.

I think I fell in love with your kindness, your soft-spoken words, your humming while you play my favorite song.

And finally, without any other rational or rather irrational explanation, I think I fell in love with you.

I left you hours ago, but I can still smell you on my skin,
I can still feel your strong arms holding me tight and
I can still taste your lips on mine.

I left you hours ago, but you left me wanting just a little bit more,
Your arms holding me a little bit tighter and
your lips kissing me a little bit harder.

I left you just a few hours ago, but I’m already craving your next “hello”.

My steps feel lighter
The fresh air winds up from the valley
I dare a look back to see where you’re at
You look up and playfully return my smile

Maybe it is the high mountains surrounding my shoulders
Making me feel safe, even at home
Or might it be you? You and your strong arms holding me tight
And suddenly I forget about turquoise waters and fine white sand

You rest, I rest
My head upon your chest as if it was moulded for it
In tight embrace we lie on the green summer grass
Under the burning sun and some chirping birds

I could remain here all day long
Breathing your soft warm skin
Eating from your full lips
And falling deeper into these brown eyes

Forgetting about all the troubles we let below
I let you take care of me
You put your arms around me like protecting hills
And I melt away like small flakes of snow into spring water

The sun is slowly setting over the mountains
While we make our way down to the valley
but only this time more loving
and confident about us
