Here the pines blush
in the cloud's embrace
the sky comes low
falls for earth's face

the winds kiss
long lines of wood
fog weaves dense
peace of solitude

Here the curves
meanders blind
on magical turns
stumbles mind

all inner demons
the high lands slay
on angel's wings
you fall love's prey.
I love you, Bhutan.
The best poets
give us mirrors
to
better see
ourselves

claustrophobic mask
mystifies, impoverished
agony rumbles

I visited her cottage each month, never
staying the night

through her window by the oak table
we watched the surf

on days when the sea was angry, we could hear
the waves crack against earth's spare spine

those times I liked, for she would hold my hand,
tightly, like I was her tether to the wide world

I would leave as the sun set, the moment a million
gold sparkles vanished from the waters

when I found her, I pretended she was asleep
but her eyes were open and still

staring it seemed through the same window
I sat with her and rubbed her cold hand

I stayed until the sun sank into the same salty sea
wondering if the old tales were true...

if a billion tears had flowed into the blue depths
making a soulful brine

I know mine fell on the soggy sand, disappearing
in the dusk that swallowed my tracks
I believe gwyll is Welsh for dusk or darkness
Cowgirl
I wish I had heard you
Pleading for my help
Not knowing you needed my side

Have you ever thought
What's the best advice you've got
from a magnificent creature,
someone who is next to you
from your cradle to your grave
who trains you to be brave,
who is beside your parent
and encourages you to be coherent,
someone who teaches you
not only science
but also kindness and forgiveness,
have you ever thought
who is a knowledge imparter, a truth-teller,
good preacher and doer ?
the name of that creature
is **teacher
