Rastafarian perches on a BT wiring cab
Slapping dark green metal and screaming
Obscenities in Patois and nonsense
Alone.

          Passersby stare; shrieking oldies;
                                       laughing kids;
                                       bewildered Neil;
                                       and I

Sit drinking, taking it all in
Alone.
The Marquis of Granby, New Cross, July 2018

As part of 'View from...', a collection of observational poetic experiments, whereby I allow myself five minutes to finish a poem regarding my surroundings at that time.
Robert C Ellis Jul 2018
My trajectory
But for the lot of Gravity
Upon branches as corpuscles divinely drawing
The blood work into ORGANS:(n)
1) those unsteady agreements of chemistry warring
Seeping into the lea of each moment
We wince
As sunlight finds its way in
Robert C Ellis Jul 2018
The stainless clockwork of my childhood
I was born with impossible skin
Life is a symphony until you hear it
And you set the typeface to Gin

Alcohol is the ignition of minutes
Every molecule burned to charcoal
Emotion is the universe unmasked
I regret the infinity of my Soul
Robert C Ellis Jul 2018
Conversations neatly ironed
And folded between footsteps
Just where sunlight can’t seem to get
All words thud with the scud
Of our telemetry into earth
All heartbeats persist the precipice
She falls from

The universe hides as Emotion
Robert C Ellis Jul 2018
Hydroxy-engine ******
is
Scientific lust
For TUNING the dust
We are correspondence
Letters and bills
And conversations in space
(radio telemetry windmills)
Our adverbs and extrapolations
Carting imagination
0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1
The clockwork of Delirium
Robert C Ellis Jul 2018
I halve the flesh for leaf
And regret and retreat
This is Divinity; seize
What words He gives
And you are a Soul
And will never cease
Milky Novae, a ****** reborn
when you end breathing
Genesis, Revelations
Endocrines endocrines.
Or molecules that sin
Tithe the seed, breede; bleed
Hatred and war
From digesting protein
My body
For the remembrance of me
Robert C Ellis Jul 2018
Nouveau ****
Wreck the Cassiopeia
I am  molecules
And they disclaim me
The Christ shift of laughter
Days plane the hereafter
We think our words move us
But Gravity still curses
Genesis, Exodus; Psalms
Our cells persist a diluted song
