I will leave on the bedside table my workout schudeule
and a catalog of Tiffany's winter inventory
and the social registry
I never return and she will sleep
with the candied apple smile glazed on her French cut face
and a trace
of Camille perfume
she must prickle in the ****
in some erectile phase dance step
her mother showed her even  before her first driving lesson.

The ****** ruckers ran through
the twilight I drew
outside the blue room I, collegiate ransacked and threw
into the glib, laughing mouth of the universe
let the damsels skew from stars
and reverent Catholic bars
the revenue of childbirth and sinew
of thoughts until men become the shrewd
Robert C Ellis May 2018
I am dynamo hunkering
beneath twilight I overthrew
the tracks of singular adulthood
they cut through
forests of script and charter review
the blue red of every sunset lit
with the chemicals of regret
warm my fingers, my connection to this earth
the first prods I withdraw
with the demons hurrah
as tenement clubs, stained wood lungs and parchment.
I wish for every soul to be saved
by rite of regret

Red
Trunk-cated
Lungs and hums
Some looks she casts
Last me
The clapboard houses
Heave with Tuesday
Con vol UTED
We Bruise
Whisky and sherry
This planet, our cemetery
Carries our
Words

The oracles bead similarly music
Breathes
Noses twist in the mistral
Strokes of blue vein and red pistil
It whistles, the shimmer inside
Flesh repeating Spring rides

Skin is when I resist the shift in
Gravity irking foundations of scenery
Like this moment at the bar, a whisky
Lip leaving my words with intensity

My brain is the wright of planetary
Rock suspended in Time as the
Sulfur stuffs the stars with me
All of matter a psalm of Memory
Robert C Ellis May 2018
There’s never enough time left for me
Swinging from the rafters of the universe
A proper God adjusts his creatures
And man recollects in annotated verse

My cabbaged heart
The layers dried and peeled
Like a fleshy carnation
But brewed like camomile

I sleep beneath the vespers
I wretch until my fingers break
From my ribcage seize a bone
Take thy bread, forgive the taste
