Times change,  life grows

People endure their pains

With each passing tear

Our strength increases

We are muscle

A dog crept up behind me the
other day and said,
"Please give me a drink or I'll
soon be dead;
my human has died-
he's incredibly dead,
and I've been left without
any bread."
"You've nothing to fear."
to the dog i said,
"There's plenty to drink,
down the street by the shed.
Just go over and get it
with nothing else said."
I must admit the dog lost all his dread
as he ran down the street
nodding his head.

Lightening strikes the alley cat
it strikes the saintly soul
it does no discriminating that
will justify the whole
why then, you may ask
should we look above
why do the task
if we're going to fall so hard
well then, let me tell you
why one should look out
our soul is the avenue
by which we move about

They've been telling me the story
all my life
about the money and the glory
and the wife
I smiled, laughed and snickered
thinking all the time
when Frosty moves to Hell
this will all be mine!

The flowers and the trees
have all grown up
some have gone and died
the wind and the breeze
rip down and up
trapped within the skies
the birds and the bees
have given up
it'll make you cry
the dog has the fleas
and the summer is up
yet people wonder why

My dog was thinking about the world the other day she said
the other morning she almost lost her  head
seems she saw a squirrel running across the floor
She leapt up to chase it
but ran into the door
I said, "yes, but what's the meaning, what's all this for?"
She said, "wait, listen-there's more."
So I put up my legs & listened to her story
I must say, things got pretty gory
She talked of birds & rabbits
blood and guts
mindless fury
animal stories
