Today i had a terrible day
So bad that I don't know what to say
I won't let her see the tears in my eyes
As we're saying every single goodbye
I know its fast but I truly care
And for her I'll always be there
Whether in a way as best friends forever
Or as lovers sharing passion together.
But what makes love
What makes these feelings shove
Shove their way into our hearts
Hearts that bleed and yearn displayed as arts
Arts for all to study and askew
Askew that which they mean and their views
Views are all that we require
Require morality to light the fire
Fire inside of each of our hearts
Hearts with burning passionate parts
Parts that push and pull our blood
Blood that makes these feelings flood
Floods that bring love in our lives
Life filled springs cut short by knives
Knives that slice right through our flesh
Making us feel like just mere mesh
Mesh with the world and discover love
Love that conquers all of the above
i remember how you were
                                         reaching out,

trying to grasp rays of the sun

desperate for a searching light
to glisten in your darkness

too late,

for the sun had set in
hills and valleys
waiting for morning
to be born

again
i just want
to be with You,
to be alone,
to walk with You
and to hear the
gentle whisper
of your voice.
I am a man.
I am a man who does not love.
Who cannot love.
For, I am a man.

I am a man.
Hence, I am not allowed to love,
To show emotion,
To feel.
For then, I’d be a *****.

I am a man.
I must be masculine.
I must be a stunner.
I must be callous.
For if not, I’d be a loser.

I am a man.
I cannot be skinny.
I cannot be fat.
I cannot care about my appearance, but I must look good.
For if not, I’d be a loner.

I am a man.
I cannot respect my wife.
For then I’d be under her thumb.
I am a man who cannot love another.
For then I’d be a criminal.

Is it that wrong
to simply love
without boundaries, without expectations?

Are we that heartless
that gender can force us to behave in a certain manner?

Are we that naive, that
we really believe phrases like
‘all men are heartless’ and
‘men are animals’?

No.
Sexism isn’t about women being oppressed by men.
Just like feminism isn’t about women being greater than men.
Discrimination, gender policing, societal pressure
are good for neither ***.
But then why do we put up with it?
It’s time for a change.
Be that change.

Sincerely,
The man who dares to love.
This is my first poem that does not rhyme. I'm experimenting with new writing styles and felt something like this theme would be perfect to try out first. The poem is split into two parts, the part in first person where it is more of a poem and then a general message out for the world. Hope you like it, do critique :)
Thank you :D

Your energy is like a drug
I can't get enough!
10W
You are the only distraction I want and or need!
I sat down with you
In the coolness of the night air
Watching you sip Dr. Pepper
After a long day's work
I listened to the sounds of summer
Watched a few stars twinkling
In the jet colored sky
We were happily chit-chatting
About this and that
We were all together
Just us three
Oh, those summer evenings
Gone forever
Only shadows remain
Touching my heart

For my dad & mom, Timothy & Hilda!!! ~~~~~<3
I wish I could be a better daughter to you...
I am sure that there're over a million ways
I could be much better than I am!!! ~~~~<3
