He was a Systems Programmer
The Supervisor told the young man of cutbacks being laid offs, and that his position was eliminated
The last hired the first fired
That wasn’t comforting news for the young man
How will his bills be paid, and where will he live without an apartment?
All that was going through the young man’s mind
He felt in adequate and a failure
He cried in desperation alone
He saw himself as a down cast
But what the young man didn’t realize, he achieved value
There were goals in craftsmanship of talent with the skills embraced
The young man had skills in Technology
That’s a high mark and not a low mark
He needs to believe in himself, and don’t let anyone to discourage him
At some point, many will experience the hammer of unemployment
The young man decided to keep his skills fine toned in being prepared for another job opportunity
He was young and not ready for retirement
Believing and praying the young man did
Opportunity knocked and he was prepared
The young man called got called for an interview for another Programming position in a big corporation
He went to the interview, filled out the application and waited for the interviewer to come out
The young man sat down and answered the questions the HR person asked
He was later told, he got the job

Seven year old Boy with a dream
Aspiration to become a Senator one day
At an early age, the young boy needed to know how with the specifics
He tried doing research on his own, but didn’t quite know the fundamentals with concepts
Politics has terminology all its own
The young boy tried to practice, practice and even act like a Senator
He didn’t have the formation stance that a Senator has
He needed to know what exactly how to serve his community
There was a Senator in his area
The young lad would often pass a Senator’s office, and this time would step in
The Elected Senator saw the youngster and asked could he help him
The young lad responded, “He wanted to be a Senator one Day, and wanted some pointers”
The Elected Senator responded with that is a tall order, and stated it takes commitment
The young boy had determined in his eyes, and the elected Senator saw where the young boy was serious
The Elected Senator explained the responsibility, legislative, and guidelines
The young lad was intrigued
Politics was being a captivation along with debates
The young boy now knew more and more about structural of politics and was now getting the basics
The teachings rolled on and on
Time has transpired, and now the young lad was now 17

The experience gained through Politics theory was starting to pay off
Wisdom and knowledge expel
Grown man with an ambition and was ready for the task being a mission set up and set out
His political campaign was a strategy to get votes and live his dream from the beginning in being an elected Senator and stepping on the floors of the Capitol in Washington, DC
It was election day, and the votes will be counted
Low and behold, the young then to now being the grown man getting the overwhelming vote to be an Elected Senator for his community

My memory back to my days as a teenager in the 70’s. When Greyhound Bus Lines had their own GREYHOUND TRAVEL AGENCY centrally located at the NEW YORK CITY PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL. My Grandmother and I were travelling companions. I had many travel arrangements through the travel agency. I travelled to MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA and staying at the BONADVENTURE HILTON being a PENTHOUSE HOTEL in Downtown Montreal. On another journey, my Grandmother and I ventured to MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, and we stayed at the DAYS INN. Greyhound made arrangements for us to go to WALT DISNEY WORLD, and it was Holiday Tours being a Greyhound bus MC7 Red, White and Blue. Our Driver was from Kentucky. In Miami Beach, we stayed on 42nd Street and Collins Avenue.

The Journeyed continued on another year to ORLANDO, FLORIDA on a tour package to WALT DISNEY WORLD staying at the HOWARD JOHNSON’S TOWER HOTEL in Downtown Orlando. I had the opportunity to explore KEY WEST, FLORIDA and saw the sights and travelled on the old HIGHWAY 1 on Greyhound being an MC5. We toured ERNEST HEMMINGWAY’S house on the out and in being an Author. Learned about his life. In college, there was three books, and we had to choose one. I chose ERNEST HEMMINGWAY’S FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS. We had to do an analysis and I got an A on my report.

I wanted to join the GREYHOUND BUS TOURS where they had then escorted tours in a small brochure, but discovered the bus tours was discontinued. I miss those years that GO GREYHOUND…LEAVE THE DRIVING TO US in meaning in the open road in possibilities. In the 70’s of GET IN TOUCH WITH AMERICA. The theory of Bus travel and seeing America in which Greyhound can show up close and personal. Front and Center would be a better phrase. Thank God it wasn’t the Stagecoach era, then it would have been rough terrain and my **** would be sore for sure. The Greyhound Dog stretched with plenty of energy and inspiration. I wish those days of the Greyhound bus experience would return. At least I was able to experience the Greyhound bus heart and will never depart.
