I want to:
die in a breath,
live in a heartbeat,
chase a sunrise
like the wind
under a butterfly's wing,
smile like the fishes
aren't watching,
hear the cricket croak,
soak in vivid poems,
become lost in the stars,
chase the cars
that I can't afford,
raise the hairs on my neck
from the affection of a kiss,
teach a kid that
heartache is natural,
witness a meteor shower
and its ashes,
hear a pigeon
give a soliloquy
and watch a rose
frozen in mid July.
I want to touch dreams
and dance in nightmares
Too much wishing and waiting,
Too much wishing and wanting.

S Olson
-- when I have the tenderness of a writhing dragon,
he will paint flowers across my throat

as though to remind me that fires are indelicate,
and that I writhe in a prison made of open space.
-- this man will not smother me with his skin
when we sleep.
-- this man will unhinge the door of my mouth,
and kiss out the bullets stuck under my tongue.
                                                                               ---
whatever thousandth day I awaken beside this man,
realizing I have become the flowers he painted
across my throat, by braving my throat,

I will, unchaining myself from the draconic worry,
bring him his coffee in bed, with a smile.

Star Gazer
He will conceal his emotions in sugar coated words
He will know of your beauty before he even sees it
He worries for romance rather than bees and birds
And he will be insecure about acne and zits
So his confidence isn't exactly alluring.
Don't fall in love with a poet,
He will let his words rain like blood on a river
Diluting all that is left of clear purity.
Don't fall in love with a poet,
Because he will not know how to fall out of it,
He will bury himself in an abyss
That is heartbreak.
He will surround himself
with tales of heartbreaks and heroism,
tales of company and parties
when he is actually still lonely.

Don't fall in love with a poet
He will tell you of your beauty
And as much as he knows it
He will tell you of your perfection.
Don't fall in love with a poet
His words will break
And he definitely knows it
That he will hold himself in heartache.
i can no longer have you as my home because i will end up homeless time and time again.
you made me homeless.
