You don't have to love me
You don't even have to want me
I'd understand

Cause I'm messy
I'm broken
There's no point in hoping
That these words that are spoken
Will go to you

I did not bloom for you.

I wasn’t planted with hope of a hand like yours

to pluck what I became.

I was here.

Growing in a quiet grove,

on the edge of the unseen—

roots tangled in silence,

leaves turned to a sun I thought only I could feel.

You came like weather.

Not loud,

but felt.

A shift in the light.

A question in the wind.

I didn’t call to you.

But still,

you found me.

I watched you stumble in—

mouth stained from strange fruits,

eyes glazed from sweetness that lied.

And I knew you were not lost.

You were done.

Done with wandering.

Done with feasting on ache.

Done with mistaking hunger for worth.

You looked at me like I was something

you’d dreamed once and forgotten.

Like tasting me

woke up something ancient in you.

And it did in me, too.

Because I didn’t know I was waiting—

not for you,

but for recognition.

For a mouth that didn’t devour,

but asked.

For hands that didn’t harvest,

but listened.

And when you bit into me,

you didn’t praise.

You closed your eyes

and let silence say it.

That was the moment.

No music.

No miracle.

Just two beings

who didn’t know they were searching

until they stopped.

Now here we are.

Still.

Rooted.

Fed.

Not written in the stars—

but grown in the dirt,

together.

I bite

I bite.
Not with teeth.
with silence,
with sharp glances,
with walls built higher than your reach.

I’m not cruel.
I’m just tired
of being kind first
and torn apart second.

You call it attitude.
I call it armor.
Because being soft
never saved me.
It only made the fall hurt more.

So I speak less now.
Agree less.
Trust less.
I pull away before someone has the chance
to walk out first.

It’s not that I don’t want love.
I’ve learned that even “I care about you”
can come with conditions.
Even soft hands
can leave bruises
you can’t see.

I bite
because once,
I didn’t.
And it nearly broke me.

Hey june
Dont make it bad
I’ll take these chances
To make things better

hey june
I’ll take the risk
But dont be shady
This might hurt my wrist

hey june
Lets call it a break
I’ll make a barrier, a bilco dune
Please dont make it break

Hey june
Im just so tired
dont make this depressing
Just wanna have fun
Please june be good to me
I’m sorry I didn’t make a life with you
I’m more sorry that wasn’t even an option
because to be honest
I still miss

Your free little bird
Fly away
go far from here
why must you stay
for it's cold and drear
your cage has been opened
yet you wish to never leave

I feel the same way
Everything suddenly went quiet
So peaceful, so relaxing..
I can't hear a thing, except
the faint sound of my own footsteps,
even though I can't feel the ground.

Everything's moving, yet nothing makes a sound.
Lips changing form, yet no words are spoken aloud.
Running and screaming, still nothing.
I've seen all this before.

These are the best moments of my life.
Yet I can't bring myself to feel happy about it.
I can't feel happy or sad or all the emotions in between.
I try to reach out for these memories, but nothings what it seems.

This world was so enchanting, so peaceful that it felt like death.
So peaceful in fact, I couldn't even hear the screams and tears.
Couldn't hear anything more.
Couldn't move, couldn't see anything,
apart from that which has been seen.

The door closed. It felt like forever, when it was really just 7 seconds.
In those 7 seconds, I relive what was best.
7 seconds of true peace and happiness.
7 seconds of tears of fear.
7 seconds for my blood to turn yellow.
7 seconds for my eyes to lose their spark.
The eyes that once were bright, now hollow.
This poem was originally inspired by the fact that your brain replays it's best memories for 7 minutes before dying! :)
