Awake! You lazy pen who gives me nothing..
You fingers parlyzed

Awake!  You stubborn thoughts who lie in puddles..
Refusing to cooperate when all I ask is such an easy task,

Give ear to all the world encompassing your gifted sight

Stoke the fire that burns wthin the ashes of your heart

Beat out a tune for all of those who live to write

Not a sound
in th forest
Not a leaf
in the wind

On the lake
not a ripple
there's a storm
coming in

Not a deer
in the meadow
Not a hiss
not a howl

Not a breath
Not a whisper
There's a cat
on the prowl

Not a twitter
of a bird
Not a Bat
Not an Owl

Silence in the forest
There's a cat on the prowl

All is well until he brushes against my legs, looks
up at me and meows - lunch time
:)

All my hearts broken on the floor,
The higher the pedestal, the harder the fall,
Pieces of the past float through my mind,
A love that won’t fail I cannot find,
I hold on close to what I have,
When my grasp tightens it turns into sand,
I runaway when things go astray,
I’m fighting hard not to leave when he begs me to stay,
I want to believe all his promises are true,
The pain of the past vs the hope of something new,
The debate in my head goes back, then forth,
Somehow though, I’m still found in his arms,
I carry on, I don’t know how to give up,
But maybe oneday I’ll wake to discover I’m in love.

tiny elves in my backyard on my stoop -
“PLEASE SIR, MAY WE HAVE SOME SOUP?”

running out from between blades of grass,
they shouted in unison with a burly crass:

“YOU MUST UNDERSTAND, IT'S A TUESDAY NIGHT,”
“AND TUESDAYS ARE SPECIAL IN ELVEN LIFE!”

“sorry sir, soup is not for elves; mommy said!”

“DON'T LISTEN TO THAT OLD BAT,
IT'S LATE AND SHE'S IN BED…

...WE COME TO YOU IN NEED OF NOURISHMENT!”

“but, I’m just a kid and mommy discourages it!”

i said in my biggest voice, for the 900th time
as they threw up their arms, like I’d committed a crime!

running around in a mass,
they ran back, with such sass,
through the leaves in a big hurry -
on a hunt for soup they scurried...
