I million heartbeats I present you,
so our hearts merge as one.

A million hugs I give graciously,
so you feel my affection.

I million smiles I give freely,
so my love can lift you up.

A million songs I sing gracefully
so ears are hugged with adoration.

I million kisses I release gently,
so you float inside our intimacy.

A million gratitude whispers I give,
so your anointed by my devotion.

I million dancing steps we share,
for the orchestration of dreams.

A million memories we experience,
so our lives become a journey

Sitting in your old arm chair,
With a devil may care,
Attitude.
Talking about the ingratitude
Of youth.
Watching TV,
Eating microwaveable meals,
Grumpa,
I still love you,
I remember the times when I was young,
and you helped me,
when I was stung,
by a wasp,
or fell over.
Life is hard,
it makes you,
grumpy and
lonely,
Please think of the things you’ve shown me,
Rather than talking about the things that make you despair
I know behind the passive aggression you still care,
I know I sometimes take the ****,
But really Grumpa,
I can see all your tricks,
There is still, to my surprise,
magic behind those eyes,
And bedtime stories waiting to be read.
Grumpa,
Don’t lose the thread
We all need a grandfather like you,
For you have all the experience,
You will know what to do!

My periods turn to semicolons
My suicide notes to poetry
My goodbyes became hellos
The blades turn to sunflowers
And the bullets, a rose
My heart still is broken
But the pieces have been found
Death isn’t for me anymore
What is, in the here and now
I still don’t feel enough
But I am alive
And that’s enough to say
Today is not the day I die.

How quickly form mind
A memory slips
Dust in the winds
A careless wisp
Not even a trace
Of a loved ones kiss

But I was there
I held you close
Of all your love
Mine was the most
You left me behind
A scab less ghost

Out here in the ether
Fond memory seether
Sleep tight my love
For I'm with the Reaper
