Sing a song
in praise of empathy
I do sing for those
who enjoy it
and keep it with themselves
sing for those
who fill the belly
of an orphan at their home
and wrap up a fawn in much cold
sing for those
who always take it
on the road and in the street
and wherever it must be at proper time
sing for empathy needs to be common
and everywhere its rhythm must echo.
