the flame of love
oft diminishes
and its warmth
disappears
a union
fused
with
affection
dissipates

the parties in the relationship
lose that loving feeling
a void remains
in their hearts
with a deep want
for the flame
to
re-ignite

someone...
somewhere...
is alone
without
a man or woman
at their side
waiting and hoping
for the warmth of love
to
again
reside
