now that I have joined the Progressive Party
life will be more on the side of being very hearty

the other political ranks weren't for wee me
they had not a mirthful sort of lee

my views on politics are more light and jolly
since I gave away the Radical Party's folly

as I sit and ponder on the progressive way
I can only shout out aloud hip hip hooray
