Mar 2014
You wore maroon velvet,
quilted diamonds
hung on the sleeves,
& you sat by the fireside
unbuttoned & glowing,
wearing posies in your hair.

Your stare was magnificence,
iris-stars sparkled azure,
the gleam of the ancients
resurrected our true purpose.

We had come here
from distant planets,
where every star twinkled
a different color,
sacred hues
& we consumed each other
in our own suns.
