Mar 2014
I remember
walking a ridgline
in outer space once,
counted every single step
above the cornfields,
below the jagged peak.

Things were pure then,
it was one foot
in front of the other,
I could breath,
felt like a new star,
not smothered.

Then I danced *****,
strung myself out on a limb.
slipped my fingers
into lady comfort,
felt the earth move
& we did a million times.

I can never go back &
you with your offspring,
stare at a faded
summit shot,
remembering the summer
of tranquility.
