the weather is our most discussed topic
especially now that the conditions are so demonic
never has the sun been as hot as it is now
we've not stopped wiping our sweat laden brows

the weather reports around these parts state
that the heat isn't too gentle nor too sedate
ninety plus degrees for two long weeks
the mercury scaling and climbing very high peaks

the weather is akin to a rampaging bonfire
we cannot stand the sensation of it's ire
the heatwave is a constant ever does it remain
reprieve hasn't yet come to our terrain

the weather's sizzle isn't quite agreeing with us
the unkindness of it's searing we do cuss
we'd like the excessive sun's rays to be quelled
we've tired of the heat which they've impelled
