That obsession
could not be beat
it tasted so sweet
on my tongue,

but I should have run
should have hightailed it out
what in hell's name
was I thinking about?

There should have been a danger sign,
a warning
telling me of the minefield ahead
and there wasn't
that
doesn't mean there shouldn't have been
if there were, I wouldn't
be here in the state
that I'm in.
