It’s not fair
The burden I put upon you
I show up
Expecting an answer
You don’t owe
Your answer is silence
Which I ignore
Make excuses
Pretend
Maybe I can say the right thing
One day
A thousand “one days”
Pass
Become past
And it be
Our history
The loneliest “our”
Because it’s only me
