Don’t go bringing
Up the past
let it settle
Inside your head
When it rains
Don’t go dredging
Up the riverbed.
Please do not weep
Try not to cry,
Don’t wake the
sleeping
Dog it will only
Bring up lies.
Look to the future
There’s no happiness
Holding on to the past,
The riverbed holds
to many sad memories
For this relationship
To last.
