Urban desolation
From the decades
Of decay
An urchin nation
Of unhoused
Frustration’s
Homeless
Take home pay
In layman’s terms
Cannot be turned
Into a ghetto
Of the fascists
Lest the sewer rats
And gators
Reinstate
Their Alcatraz’s
Yet imagine such a world
Where only people
Need unite
And the dehumanizing
Rhetoric
Need not so often write
Whatever partisan
Pretensions
Still rebranded
On display
Mutually
Assure destruction
Desolation
And decay
