By itself I was
myself, the souled
body with my name

Mirrors helped me
as a teenager to see myself
my hair, my nose, my shape

A life later
I split my body
off, more and more

I distance myself
from the defects of
old age and illness

to continue to recognise
myself as who I want
to have become

spiritually safe and free
rocking in the wonder
until I am no more
The emergence of dualism, the separation of the body and the (supposedly immaterial) mind
