i remember on my birthday daddy bought a pup for me
best present in the world there could ever be
i named him Bobby jo took him every where
always by my side Bobby jo  was there

we would go out walking in the morning dew
chasing rabbits in the valley bobby loved to do
he was my best friend best there could ever be
a special birthday gift my daddy bought for me  

when bedtime comes around bobby always knows
upstairs to my bedroom bobby always goes
lays there my side ready for his dose
then i watch his eyes as they begin to close

i wont forget the present daddy bought for me
best present in the world there could ever be
he his my best friend  and i love him so
he is there with me every where i go
