I looked out onto the open road
Saw my past present and future,
I Saw into my soul.
I have too much understanding to feel this jaded
I’m too young to feel this old.

I watch the eagles soar the sky,
The birds make me feel alive.
Time goes backwards, it’s alright,
I feel alone,
Every weekend night.
I keep to myself and mind my own,
Ive grown myself up, built my own home.

But I watch as time slips by,
And I feel myself getting harder.
I let myself feel better,
Piddling in my crafts alone,
just like my father.
Watching the sky under the trees,
Every cloud,
Floats right past me.

I dare to stop,
Jump out and just be.
To feel like a bird and have love
Around me.
Where the weekends don’t feel lonely,
And neither do I.
Where the sky finally feels free enough
To fly.
