Be persistent with the Lord,
In asking for what is good:
He knows what we're on need of,
He'll answer when best he should.

God knows the past and present,  
And what the future brings,
He knows when lives are troubled,
For our lives he is caring.

With the Lord be persistent,
In seeking good during life:
He loves to give us good things,
And help us in times of strife.

Persistent, Lord, help us to be,
In asking good things from Thee.
