That first wild rush, a heart aflame,
A love so fierce, it whispered your name.
Those stolen glances, a tender touch,
A bond so deep, meant so much.

Perhaps it faded, perhaps it's still there,
A memory cherished, beyond compare.
The fear of falling, too fast, too deep,
A vulnerability, secrets to keep.

But oh, my darling, it wasn't a fault,
To love so fully, a heart's assault.
Those feelings, real, though time may fly,
A testament to love, reaching high.

So let the memory, gently reside,
A brave heart's journey, nowhere to hide.
For loving deeply, with all you are,
Is never a mistake, no matter how far.
And the scars it left behind, the marks etched deep into my soul – they are a testament to the beauty of a love that burned so brightly, it left me changed forever.  It wasn't a mistake.  It was a masterpiece.
