Our house is wide and dark.
The floor is chipped and the walls are peeling.
Careful, don’t trip, or you will stub your feet and bleed.
Don’t yell or scream or cry, or you will have to stumble and limp down the porch.
Don't spill the milk, or it will go cold.
It will sink into the wood's cracks and you will never get it out.
Heaven forbid a stain.

Our house is grand and perfect.
There are no bugs in the garden and no mud on our knees.
The evenings are quiet and everybody is smart.
There is a monster here who eats and eats and says
'What a lovely home we have.'
