For they once
Roamed these halls
Innocent
Learning
To be better humans
And into them
Turning
But suddenly yearning
For home
In an instant
For mommy and daddy
Could not be more distant
When bursting forth
Barrel blasts
Shatter reality,
Not yet a decade
Of fragile morality
Splattered in
Evil
Incarnate
Depravity
All the unvarnished
Unraveling
Tragedy,
Tragically
Yet again
Weaponized,
Minimized
Merely an afterthought
Footnote
Politicized
