Suffocating
Suffocating in the steam of the shower
Suffocating as minutes imitate hours
Suffocating as I use all my power
To try rekindle what once was ours
Inhaling the embers of our love
Inhaling what once was enough
Inhaling the end of what had begun
Just to realise nothing can be done
Breathing an unwanted gulp of air
Breathing as my pain is left bare
Breathing your imagined scent
Leaving me full of discontent
Realising my heart is no longer yours
Realising our love is a closed door
Realising how empty I am
Realising how love is a scam.
