I loved you the way I love the moonlight
Romantic, yet quietly alone.
I loved you the way I love the morning sun
Warm, yet deeply lonesome.
I loved you the way I love the ocean waves
So peaceful, yet unfathomably deep.
I loved you the way I love poetry
So dreamy… yet full of deceit.

I loved you—loved you so deeply,
But you left me for a rose in bloom.
Now I stand alone beneath a crescent moon,
Dancing with the wind, befriending verses.
I loved you that much—that much, you know…
And still I plead—just once, let me be loved.
Love is like that...
