When life has dealt with its cause,
And it has forced us to redirect,
Now we stand between what once was ,
and what has now become.

As the remnant of the past lingers,
A spark that once ignited between us,
setting our hearts ablaze,
Now lost ,
forever in the shadows.

Wistful memories,
Of love once existed,
Bittersweet memories of love now lost,
An imprint that will forever stain my heart.

Now life has redirected,
and we have become strangers,
Only our hearts can now tell the story,
That's all that remains
" Two strangers who were once in love".
